Marlon HuismansMy most profound experience in 2012 -2013

I parachuted myself out of the real estate company I was in and started my own business. The fear to remain the same was bigger than the pain to leave. This gave me the opportunity to look, think and feel more. About what is needed. Combining that with the courage to listen to my inner voice, I am now designing ideas that I could never do before. It all comes together now.

What I want to bring to the world in 2013

I am greatly inspired by the possibilities and transparency that modern communication technology can bring to people. I will incorporate this in my ideas for building places to live and work. Whether it is for social housing, modern working or public space. Combining the on-line with the on-site building world is something that I will contribute in 2013. To give more value to places.

What I hope to achieve professionally

I want to make places that are meaningful, and bring the love back in my professional world of real estate. I hope I a can be a great story-teller, to let people see the true value of cities, buildings as shelters, in a persons life. Buildings, technologies are useless without people. I try to study both tech and human and analyze what is needed. Designing and living my thoughts is my great challenge now. I hope I can achieve that professionally.

Marianne Williamson – A Return to Love

“Our deepest fear”

A passage from the book has become popular as an inspirational quote:

Our deepest fear is not that we are   inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is   our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am   I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to   be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn’t serve the world.   There’s nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel   insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born   to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of   us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously   give other people permission to do the same. As we’re liberated from our own   fear, our presence automatically liberates others

My favourite community (with link)

Facebook. Sounds simple, but I find it fascinating what this platform of pictures, quotes and thoughts brings to our lives. I am also fascinated by the ‘visual archive of your social life-art project’ where Intel shows us the ‘museum of me’ and the visualization of our virtual life on Facebook.
